In 2000, Joyce Means, with Border Patrol escorts and air support, lead a caravan to Porvenir. The pictures below are of that caravan. The roads are rough and the terrain is rugged but it was all worth while to see where our ancestors lived. Today, with the international problems on the border traveling to Porvenir is very dangerous. The land is privately owned and trespassing is forbidden.
